A TEENAGER was robbed on his way to work.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident, which took place on Callands Road at 5.50am last Tuesday, August 15.

The 17-year-old was approached by another man, who was on a blue-sprayed BMX that looked too small for him and who also had a black Staffordshire bull terrier with him.

He stopped his victim from walking any further and asked him for money. When he refused he then threatened him and searched him before taking cash.

He then continued to threaten him and said he would follow him to work.

The robber is white, in his late teens, 5ft 9ins tall, wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a grey hooded top and a Burberry-style hat.

A short time later he was seen near the Spar shop and Ian Hampton, from Warrington Special Investigations Unit, is appealing for information.

He is particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time or anyone who saw the alleged offender at the shop.
