THE two clubs have met twice before in the final with Huddersfield winning both times: 37-3 in 1915 and 15-10 in 1953.

BROTHERS IN OPPOSITION.

THERE is a possibility that brothers could be in opposition in a Challenge Cup Final for only the second time in over 50 years, with Ade Gardner a regular on St. Helens' right wing and younger brother Matt aiming for a place on Huddersfield's left wing. They have already been in opposition twice, in Super League matches this season.

The last brothers to be in opposition in a Challenge Cup Final were Paul Sculthorpe (St. Helens) and Danny Sculthorpe (Wigan Warriors) in 2004. Paul captained the winning side.

TRY SCORER IN EVERY ROUND.

JAMIE LYON of St Helens is the only one of the finalists to have scored a try in every round this year. He has also kicked goals in each round to give him a total of 70 points in four Cup-ties from four tries and 27 goals.

The last player to score at least one try in every round including the final was Michael Withers of Bradford in 2000 as follows: 1-3-1-1-2.

LANCE TODD TROPHY.

SEAN LONG of St. Helens is in with a chance of becoming the first player to win the Lance Todd Trophy as man of the match three times. The scrum half won the trophy when St. Helens beat Bradford Bulls in 2001 and again in 2004 after beating Wigan Warriors.

ROBBIE PAUL of Huddersfield Giants is in line to become only the fifth player to win the Lance Todd Trophy twice and could become the first to win it with both a losing and winning team. The half back won the individual award playing for Bradford Bulls when they lost to St. Helens in 1996.

LEON PRYCE of St. Helens is in with a chance of becoming only the eighth player to win the Lance Todd Trophy plus the Harry Sunderland Trophy, which goes to the man of the match in the Super League Grand Final*. Pryce won the latter trophy last year when he was in the Bradford Bulls side that beat Leeds Rhinos.

*Before 1998 it was awarded for the top performance in the Championship Final and later Premiership Final.

PREVIOUS TWICKENHAM FINAL.

ST. HELENS have seven players who appeared in the only other Challenge Cup Final to be played at Twickenham, in 2001. They are Paul Wellens, Sean Long, Keiron Cunningham and Paul Sculthorpe, who played in the victorious St. Helens side, while Leon Pryce, Lee Gilmour and Paul Anderson were in the losing Bradford Bulls team.

Robbie Paul also returns, with Huddersfield Giants, having captained Bradford in 2001.

HEAD TO HEAD.

THE two teams have met 15 times previously in the RL Challenge Cup with Huddersfield winning the first eight and St. Helens the last seven. Huddersfield's last win was in 1968 when they won 5-0 in the first round at St. Helens.
