CHILDREN from a Bewsey nursery have brought a piece of Africa to school after setting up their own African village in a classroom.

Youngsters at Burnett Nursery School helped to create the mini village, complete with mud huts with straw roofs that even had its very own stream where they could catch fish.

Following the African theme, the children got the chance to make their own African jewellery along with other essential items for village life.

The Mayor of Warrington, Councillor Linda Dirir and the Mayor's consort paid the children a visit who had dressed up especially for the occasion.
