LUXURY blocks of apartments planned for Grappenhall could be the taste of things to come in Warrington's property market.

The most expensive two-level apartment is £349,500 and the small site will have its own gym and landscaped garden.

"I can't think of any other flats in Warrington which are comparable," said Bev Kemp from sales agents Land and New Homes.

Unlike most new flats in town, they are not specifically aimed at young professionals or first time buyers.

The builders, the Prestigious Living Group, are hoping to attract all kinds of people but have had strong interest from retired couples and people whose children have left home.

Bev Kemp said: "They still want a larger property but something more manageable, so there's a market for those people."

The development is planned for the site of the old tennis club, off Bradshaw Lane, and is called Knightsbridge Court.

The flats will be in four blocks with the first two-blocks totalling 12 apartments due for completion by the end of next year - two have already been reserved.

Prices start at £156,000 for a one-bed apartment. The most expensive is 1,376 square feet.

The builders aim for a high specification interior and a village style exterior.
