THE rent and building costs of new affordable homes in Fairfield can be revealed.
The 40 houses and bungalows will be built by Warrington Housing Association between Helsby Street and Salisbury Street to meet high demand for reasonably priced properties.
The bungalows, for disabled people, will cost £34.38 a week to rent and will cost £1.07m to build.
The homes, which vary from two to four-bedroom in size, will cost £75.28 a week and cost £3.6m to build.
Fairfield is ranked the seventh most deprived ward in Warrington, out of 24.
The site, currently partly occupied by Helsby Medical Centre, was earmarked as a potential relocation site for St Elphin's CE Primary School but was found to be too small.
