YOUNG people can enjoy their very own mini festival next week when a charity skatejam comes to Latchford.

Professional skateboarders and BMX riders will be demonstrating their skills on the ramps in Victoria Park next Thursday from 1pm until 4pm.

Joining them will be young people from the skate park who have been accessing training sessions provided by Rampworx to develop their skills on the boards and bikes.

The event is organised by the TalkDon't Walk project in conjunction with Warrington Borough Council's youth service and Warrington bike company FirmBikes.

There will also be other activities taking place on the day as well as a display area including information stands from young peoples' services in the town and event sponsors.

The charity skatejam is the first of many events to be organised under the banner of the TalkDon't Walk foundation since it launched in July this year.

The programme's aim is to ensure that youngsters know there are things to do and how to access them.
