THE Manchester Ship Canal Company is the subject of a battle between investors.
An Australian investment company and Germany's Deutsche Bank are trying to buy a 49 per cent stake in the firm's parent company, Peel Ports. The Manchester Ship Canal Company operates the historic canal, which runs through Warrington, and owns land around it, including the site of a proposed 275-home development in the Lower Walton area.
