AT the July meeting of Poulton with Fearnhead Parish Council, councillor Peter Edwards, previously vice chairman, was appointed chairman.
Retiring chairman Pat Wright was thanked for her work and commitment over the past two years in office and councillor Mick Curran was elected as vice chairman for the forthcoming year.
The parish council is working on a response to the borough council's consultation on schools mergers, since Padgate High School is the main secondary school provider for the parish.
Several parish councillors are governors at Padgate High and Peter Edwards is also a Governor at Woolston High School.
Mr Edwards said: "This high schools' consultation is of great concern to the parish council, and our response will be published in August."
