A CULCHETH business entrepreneur is hoping an appearance on a popular TV show will prove a real money-spinner.

Next month, Ian Daintith will face the Dragons' Den on BBC2 in a bid to get funding for his business.

The show sees contestants pitch their idea to a panel of business experts who may offer the money to really make things happen.

He and business partner Richard Adams run a company called Coin Metrics Limited and sell a machine which monitors the use and security of individual slot machines in casinos and amusement arcades.

The pair will step up to pitch their product to the business dragons on September 14 and although filming has already taken place, fans of the show will have to wait to see how they get on.

Mr Daintith, aged 34, from Birchall Avenue, said: "I have often watched the show and thought I should go on it, but it was my wife who sent in the application form. It all happened very quickly after that and we were filming within days of being interviewed for the show.

"It was really quite daunting before you go to face the dragons and you become extremely nervous!"

Although the company has only been selling its products for just over a year, it has customers from Perth in Scotland to Penzance in Cornwall.
