JUMP if you want to help do your bit for charity.

That's the message from The Highwayman pub, on Manchester Road, which has organised a charity bungee jump in aid of a youngster who suffers from a rare disorder.

The pub decided to hold the event on Saturday, August 26, because Mia Loudon's grandparents drink in the pub and landlady, Michelle Aspinall, wanted to do her bit to help in the fundraising effort to provide the girl with an adapted vehicle.

The Cinnamon Brow youngster was diagnosed as only the 17th child in the world with CDKL5, a rare genetic disorder. In three years, she has suffered 16,000 seizures and had three operations. She has been admitted to hospital 20 times, including the high dependency unit three times.

Michelle said: "We have already got a fair few people signed up but we need 40 jumpers to be able to do the event so we need some more people to take part."

If you are interested in completing the bungee jump, call the pub on 810932.
