THOSE pesky eastern Europeans.

They are all evil and will resort to horrific, gruesome killings given half the chance or the prospect of a shiny American dollar.

Or at least that's the impression I got from watching Hostel.

I actually find the Slovaks to be pretty pleasant folks in my experience. Never really thought any of them might attack me.

Anyway, back to the film.

Hostel is the makings of a good film. Basically two Americans head off backpacking round Europe - looking for the full experience.

They run into Icelanic Oli (Iceland - not an evil country) and hear of a hostel in Slovakia where hot eastern European beauties will do whatever you want.

However, it's not that easy and increasingly horrific and appalling things begin to happen.

If you like horror films, there is enough gore and violence here to keep you happy.

But the plot is exceptionally weak and what could be a promising film, turns firstly into a let down and ultimately into something actually pretty offensive.
