NEW charges for people receiving social care from the council are inevitable.
Most people agreed that the council has no choice but to bring in changes to the charging system to meet Government targets.
And the announcement that older people who have saved long and hard won't be penalised by the new system is to the council's credit.
But they should take note of the Older People's Forum.
Too often blanket policies are introduced that don't take into account the individual.
There will be people with specific needs who will need their case looked at so they aren't charged too much.
