THE Warrington Clean Team has carried out two more litter picks in Great Sankey and Appleton.

The dedicated volunteers collected rubbish near the Trigger Pond Pub in Lingley Green Avenue, Great Sankey, and around The Dingle and Millennium Field in Appleton.

The team managed to collect 13 bags of litter from the area around The Trigger Pond.

Clr Trudi Wood, who organised the team, said: "The most notable point about this pick was the temperature - it reached 30C!

"In our fluorescent yellow high-visibility vests we looked like we had been nuked!

"Many, profound thanks go out to those who picked that day in very harsh conditions especially when the cold beer under the sun shade was so temptingly close!"

Clr Wood also said that the team was unsuccessful in getting funding from Warrington Charities Trust.

The team is open to anyone who wants to take part, and you can simply turn up on the day. For full details, contact Clr Wood at clean_team@btconnect.com
