IF you fancy a trip to the seaside then look no further than Birchwood.
That's because Birchwood shopping centre is holding a special seaside event this week so you won't need to travel to the coast to enjoy fun in the sand this summer.
Following the success of last year's Birchwood by the sea, it returns once again until Saturday for a week of entertainment including sandcastle competitions, the limbo, fishing, hula hoop games, magic shows and the ever popular and traditional seaside attraction, Punch and Judy.
There will also be crazy sand workshops where children will be able to make decorative patterns with different coloured sand in plastic bottles, that they will be invited to take home with them.
Children will also have the opportunity to have their faces painted. Birchwood shopping centre manager Gary Jones said: "This event proved extremely popular last year so we're thrilled to be hosting it again."
