COUNCIL chiefs have passed plans which could see a historic primary school demolished.
Members of Warrington Borough Council's executive board have given the go ahead for a second planning application to be submitted.
At the meeting held tonight, Monday, they agreed those plans should be to knock down and rebuild Stockton Heath Primary School.
An earlier scheme was turned down in March after some residents launched a campaign to keep the building open.
Education bosses say a refurbishment of the current building would be ineffective and too costly.
The application will now go back before council planners.
