THE family and friends of a much-loved Culcheth resident who died earlier this year are holding a special celebration to remember her.
To commemorate Sue Roberts's love of horses, a memorial horse show is being held at Cockshot Farm, in Croft ,on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28.
Organisers are looking for anyone wanting to take part in the fun event.
Friend Jo Stewart, one of those organising the show, said: "We just wanted to do something nice to remember her by and this seemed quite fitting. Horses were a lifelong passion of Sue's and she had her own pony called Tony who was her whole life."
The 45-year-old was born in Swinton and also lived in Gorse Covert for a number of years before her death due to pneumonia.
Ms Stewart added: "She will be very sadly missed."
The organisers are looking for competitors to take part in the event which will have a range of classes, including a gymkhana. Ms Stewart added: "You do not have to have the most expensive equipment - that's not what this is about. There are not that many fun horse shows around these days and that is what this one will be about."
Funds raised from the event will be donated to the Bransby Home of Rest for Horses in Sue's name as it was a charity close to her heart.
If you are interested in taking part in the event or sponsoring it, either as personal or trade sponsors, you can contact either Nikki Layton on 07762325376 or Jo Stewart on 650375.
