CHILDREN at Christ Church CE Primary School in Padgate are benefiting from a good quality of education' where lessons and activities are full of challenge, interest and fun'.
These are just some of the many positive comments made by Ofsted inspectors following their recent visit.
They praised the outstanding range of after school clubs' and the good quality of teaching, learning and care, support and guidance that pupils receive.
Standards and achievement in English, maths and science by Year Six are a real strength', being exceptionally high' in 2005.
Fundraising events organised by pupils were demonstrative of the exceptionally good way in which pupils learn about and contribute to their community, reflecting the school's very strong spiritual outlook on life'.
Inspectors recommended that attention be focused on attendance and strategies are already in place to help the school achieve its targets.
Ian Williams, head teacher, said: "There were so many positive aspects of our school life included in the report and I am particularly pleased that the good standards of academic achievement and the way our children think of others rather than themselves' was recognised. I want to thank everyone at the school for all their hard work and commitment."
Edward Collinson, chairman of governors, said: "We would like to thank all the staff and children for their hard work.
"We will of course take on board all the inspectors' comments and continue with our efforts to help further improve our school."
