ANOTHER massive cash injection has secured the future of an ailing community centre in Cinnamon Brow.
Last week the Warrington Guardian reported that Cinnamon Brow Farm Club had received £2,500 from Muir Group Housing Association to help with maintenance.
Now club representatives have confirmed that it has also been awarded £26,000 from the WREN, the charitable arm of Waste Recycling Group Limited.
The cash will be spent on completing a long list of repair works, which include rendering to the building.
Parish councillor Mick Curran said: "We are absolutely delighted with this funding.
"The building is 200 years old and the bricks are getting porous with age so this money will allow us to make these emergency repairs.
"We have received a number of quotes for the work and without this money we simply wouldn't have been able to afford to get the work done and the problems would have got worse. In effect, this money has secured the future of the building."
Peter Cox, finance director of WREN, said: "The projects that we've funded will all make a positive contribution to their communities and environments and we would encourage any organisations looking for funding to contact WREN and find out more about how the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme can help."
