VICTORIA Park will see groups of pirates and beach party teams getting into step for the Cancer Research UK's Relay For Life this weekend.
The 24-hour test will see a number of teams working in groups to lap the park from noon on Saturday until noon on Sunday.
The second lap of the day will be led by cancer survivors in the Survivors' Victory Lap of Honour on the Saturday afternoon.
At 9pm there will be a Candle of Hope Ceremony with candles being lit around the track in memory of those who have died from cancer.
Laura Gilberts, volunteer committee chairman, said: "Relay For Life is such a fantastic idea because, not only does it raise money for finding cancer cures, but it also celebrates the lives of those who have survived cancer and honours those lost to cancer."
There will be plenty of other activities throughout the two days including a funfair, face painting, salsa dancing and live music. At 7am on Sunday, there will be a car boot sale, pitches cost £10 and all money will be donated to Cancer Research UK. To book call Laura on 266472.
