THE long awaited solo album from Pharrell Williams has landed.
Over the past three years, Pharrell has been part of production team The Neptunes, fronted group N*E*R*D* and notched up guest spots on countless tracks. He's been responsible for some of the most memorable R&B and hip hop tunes of recent times.
Frontin' by Jay-Z - Pharrell. Hollerback Girl by Gwen Stefani - Pharrell. Beautiful by Snoop Dogg - Pharrell.
The list could go on and on.
But has his constant assault on the charts led to an early burnout for the music guru?
Half hip hop flows, half R&B schmaltz, Pharrell's first solo offering doesn't quite hit the spot.
The two singles so far - Can I Have It Like That and Angel - together with That Girl (featuring Snoop) are the stand-out tracks.
It's not an horrendous album but it by no means meets the expectations that Pharrell fans may have.
