WHETHER it's an animal or another person in need then help is at hand if Zac Hancock is around.
The altruistic youngster has raised hundreds of pounds for his favourite charities in the past three years, earning him the Wire FM Youth Upfront Award for Talent in the 10 to 12 years category.
At 10 years old, the crusading charity champion is making it his life's work to raise as much cash for charity as he possibly can.
His philanthropy began when he watched Children In Need for the first time and was visibly moved by the stories of abused and disadvantaged youngsters.
Proud dad Kevin, of Meteor Crescent, Orford, said: "Zac is very unique - he is considerate beyond his years and very sensitive.
"He cares about his community, people and animals and is always coming up with new ideas to help with fundraising.
"He was very affected the first time he watched Children In Need and immediately wanted to do something to help.
"Also, I come from a background in care so he's always been very aware that not all children are as fortunate as he is."
Last year Zac won the Liverpool John Moores citizenship award for his charity work after being nominated by his school, St Margaret's Primary.
He raised £100 for Children In Need in one hour after getting his dad to drop him off in town dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow from the Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean.
And he is already planning his next fundraising venture for this year's Children In Need.
As well as his charity work, Zac also helped to design and build a ramp to help a close family friend who had lost his legs.
Kevin added: "If we're driving along and he sees an animal in the road he'll make me turn round to make sure it's safe.
"The other day there was a little girl crying at the side of the road and he made me turn back to check she was okay. He's one in a million."
