GOLDEN Square hosts Warrington's third On The Move barbecue next weekend.
The barbecue, which runs for four days from next Wednesday, August 16, until Saturday, August 20, will provide shoppers with a free lunchtime bite each day from noon until 2pm.
The event is being run by volunteers from 20 or so churches around the borough.
Some of the 200 volunteers will be cooking and serving food, others will be inviting shoppers to the barbecue, and those with musical instruments and good voices will make up to four singing groups around the town centre.
Paul Hockley, vicar of St Paul's in Penketh, said: "The On The Move barbecues started in 1997 in Canterbury and over the past six years, more than 180 towns around the UK have hosted such events - including Warrington in 2002 and 2004.
"There always seems to be a great response to what is a fantastic occasion. Everyone in Warrington is invited to come down and have something to eat!"
