FIREFIGHTERS are hoping to spread the fire safety message among Polish workers living in Warrington.
Community safety advocates Joy Hughes and Ann McElroy from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have joined forces with Warrington Borough Transport to pass on safety information to some of its Polish workforce.
Warrington has a growing Polish population and Warrington Borough Transport is one of the largest employers in the area.
Approximately 12 Polish staff and their English tutor attended a general home fire safety awareness session at Warrington Borough Transport headquarters. Leaflets in Polish were provided to all Polish employees.
Advocate McElroy said: "Warrington Borough Transport allowing us access to this group of employees has helped us in meeting with and educating a small section of this community, which hopefully will not only lead to safer lifestyles, but also to future working development within this group."
