A POLICEMAN is appealing against a conviction for assaulting his partner.
Wayne Mitchell's case will be heard at Chester Crown Court on Monday, August 14.
The 33-year-old was convicted last year of assaulting his wife, Jeanette, at their home in Tunbridge Close, Westbrook.
Mitchell has been a police constable with Greater Manchester Police for 10 years.
Jeanette told the trial at Warrington Magistrates' Court that he assaulted her and put her in a headlock.
Mitchell said her bruises were down to a scuffle for a mobile phone that also left him with a scratched arm and bruised elbow.
