A TV property mogul mixed business with pleasure when he returned to his childhood village for filming.
Homes Under the Hammer presenter Martin Roberts took a trip down memory lane on Thursday when he returned to Stockton Heath to help transform his latest property.
The building bought at auction was A Broadhurst & Son General Store, on Walton Road, which brought back many memories for the daytime TV star.
Mr Roberts said: "I have vivid recollections of the village as a child. It's changed so much, it's very cosmopolitan but it's great to be back."
The BBC 1 show attracts 1.6 million viewers each morning, making it the most popular daytime programme.
On the latest property, Mr Roberts, who attended Stockton Heath Primary School, suggested it could be transformed into a wine bar or restaurant to follow the village's fashionable trend.
At present, the former shop stands empty but in six months' time, the Homes Under the Hammer team will return so see how the project is evolving.
Proving he is up to date on village issues, the presenter said: "I hear my former school may be bulldozed. That's awful, it's a beautiful building and I for one, would chain myself to the gates if necessary."
