FIREFIGHTERS are urging members of the public not to try to tackle blazes by themselves after two youngsters trying to offer a helping hand ended up with burns.
A crew from Birchwood fire station were called out to a fire involving trees at Bruche Park on Bruche Road on Sunday, just before 7.30pm.
Although the blaze was put out quickly the crews were at the scene an hour as two youths required first aid.
They had sustained burns, one to a foot, the other to a hand and a foot, as they tried to stamp out the fire.
