WARRINGTON is already known as the dumping ground of the north west.
Do we need any more?
This week, plans have been revealed to extend Risley Landfill site so it can continue to be used until 2011.
But Warrington must reach saturation point soon, even if it hasn't already.
The borough council is encouraging people to recycle - and this is something we all have to take responsibility for.
But those in authority also need to take responsibility and put their feet down when it comes to applications like this.
Both the Risley and Arpley sites are deeply unpopular with residents - and rightly so.
We need to reduce the amount of landfill created and the amount we dump.
And, at the risk of sounding like nimbys, we need to reduce the amount we dump here in Warrington.
