UP to 70 young people have been taking part in the summer Warrington Community Football Partnership Football Tournament.
Warrington Community Football Partnership is made up of groups from different areas of Warrington, working with young people to develop their football skills.
The group came together to show how young people can be healthy and participate in sport, but also to give young people a chance to meet new people and stay off the streets on a Friday night.
The eight-a-side tournament started as one big league, then three weeks into the league it was split, so the top six were competing for the trophy, and the bottom six competing for the plate.
After some fierce competition lasting five weeks the winners were announced on Friday, July 14, with an awards ceremony taking place at Warrington's Young People's Centre, providing support throughout the tournament.
After a heated final night, with everyone knowing that the results of the match could go any way, the pressure was on to win the games as much as possible.
But in the end there could be only one winner in each category.
Winners of the trophy were Orford United and the winners of the plate were Bewsey/BME FC.
In addition to the trophies, there was a special fair play award, which was given to Daniel Ellison of Whitecross/Dallam FC, for his sportsmanship during one of the final games of the evening.
There will be more tournaments running throughout the year, if you are part of a community football team and want to know more ring Alex Wright (community football coach) on 444400.
