GREAT Sankey- based four piece Viva La Blitz have only been playing together since June 2009, but have already made an impact on the local stage.
Fresh from playing at February’s Plugged and to a packed crowd at the Lord Rodney, the A-Level music students are preparing to release their debut EP – A Lighter Shade Of White – towards the end of this month.
Fronted by Matt Malone, with Dave Lomas on lead guitar and Joe Bowers playing Bass, the line up is finalised with Zach Harding Dickson on drums.
After their initial formation for a friend’s birthday party, the group decided to take things further, leading to their current indie/blues sound, taking influence from diverse sources, from Jimi Hendrix to the Artic Monkeys.
With original material, such as the crowd-pleasing Back to the Start again, and chatty stage presence, the band are sure to make their mark.
