IT'S a sad week for soap as news breaks that Bill Ward, otherwise known as Coronation Street's bad boy Charlie Stubbs, has decided to quit.

What will we do without Charlie's scheming to keep us entertained? And he might be a nasty piece of work but he's the best-looking villain to come out of Weatherfield in a long time. Reports suggest that before he goes, the crafty builder will have time to make one more woman's life a living misery, namely Maria's.

Apparently, he seduces the young hairdresser after she moves into his flat and proceeds to turn her into his latest victim.

Meanwhile, Kelly had better watch out as rumours emerge that bitchy Becky is coming back to the cobbles - and this time with some of her family in tow!

Over in Hollyoaks, Liz was offered a job away from Chester - news you would have thought her offspring would have greeted with cheers after all the dramas they've faced in the past couple of years.

The prospect of leaving certainly didn't float Justin's boat. The schoolboy clearly wants to continue his relationship with teacher Becca and potentially become a dad to her forthcoming baby. Truly bizarre.

Jake's still moping around feeling sorry for himself, and starting the occasional punch-up for good measure. If he isn't careful, he is in danger of becoming annoying. I have started to want to shout at the TV: 'Pull yourself together!' He ought to remember that he too was a cradle snatcher - we haven't forgotten the Lisa Hunter affair!

Of course, the real villain in all of this is scarlet woman Becca, who looks certain to scoop the Soap Dish Sexiest Woman gong but who could also surely win awards for Worst Teacher, Worst Wife and Worst Sister after this saga!
