A tall and uncompromising front-rower with a big heart, Hilton battled back from a series of career threatening injuries to establish himself as one of the most consistent props in the league. Wolves' longest serving player having originally debuted as an 18-year-old in 1993, the former Orrell St James amateur was rewarded with a Testimonial season in 2004 after a decade of stellar service. Combined his playing career with studying towards a mathematics degree and graduated with 1st class honours in 2004. Toured Australia with Great Britain Academy in 1994 and was hotly tipped for the full GB tour of New Zealand and the Pacific Islands in 1996 before a shoulder injury ended his season. Endured two shoulder reconstructions and three broken arms - including one on his England debut against France in 1998 - over the next four seasons, which led to him being released from the club at the end of 2000. However, after a full year out of the game he returned to Warrington and has been a virtual ever present in the starting line-up since, winning Origin caps for Lancashire in 2002 and 2003. A former international wrestler at schoolboys level.
