Man-mountain front rower who was one of the form props in Super League in 2005. An outstanding defender close to the ruck, he possesses a fine offload and quick play-the-ball. Born into an English family, which emigrated to Australia, his surname comes from a Norwegian grandfather. Illawarra Steelers' U21 Player of the Year in 1996, he made his full debut the following season and was included in the merged squad when the club joined forces with St George Dragons in 1999. Was a key part of the St George-Illawarra pack, which finished runner up in the 1999 NRL competition, and played in the Grand Final at Stadium Australia, which grossed a world record crowd. Joined Warrington for the 2004 season, injuries restricted his form and availability during his first season, he hit a dominating run of form throughout his second season, and signed a one-year extension for 2006. Played over 100 first grade games in Australia prior to arriving at Warrington, his unflappable temperament brings an element of on-field experience to the Wolves pack. Away from the field a big cricket fan whose sporting hero is Australian legend Steve Waugh. Does not count on the overseas quota due to his British passport.
