THE GHOST HUNT
8:00pm - The corridors & museum
JG As I walk down the corridors I feel very depressed, like I could cry. I feel my face falling with the strength of the depression. Someone's brushed past my face, they want to make contact. There's a lot of cold spots in the building.
James is touching a silk parachute owned by Flight Officer Griffiths on display in the museum
JG I feel he really enjoyed jumping, he was excited by jumping. I feel there was something wrong with his leg and he had some kind of link to Australia.
DM (Touching the wreckage of the tail of a plane) I sense a dog here around this aeroplane. He's strongly linked to it.
JG Now I hear whistling. Can you hear a whistle being blown? Perhaps the officers used to blow whistles when people parachuted from the planes?
9:00pm - The bar
DT We were on the stage when we heard noises coming from the bar area. When we moved over to the bar there was a definite drop in temperature. One of the many American flags on the wall was swaying, even though there were no draughts and we were nowhere near it.
IR And there was a motion detector on the ceiling which kept flashing even though we were sat very, very still on the stage. We went in a second time and locked ourselves in. Again, there were noises coming from the bar.
DT When we heard the noises I started to take pictures of the area. The next day I checked them and discovered one shot of the bar area had three orbs on it.
See the bottom of the page for the possible orbs caught on camera.
9:30pm - The small admin office
DM I've just linked in with a man called John Mitchell. The year 1961 comes to me and I think he had some link to Cleveland. The name Betsy's also there. I think this room was once a medical station and Mitchell worked here. He was bullied though, by a big brute of a guy.
We found out that a Eugene Wallace Mitchell used to work in the medical department at Burtonwood.
DM I feel sad and frightened. Feels like my legs have been set in concrete. There's an authoritative chap here now who scoffs at what we're doing here.
JG I can see a newspaper, possibly the New York Times and for some reason it has a picture of London in it.
IR found a paper in another nearby office. It was the Sunday Times from 30 August 2003 and had a picture of St Paul's Cathedral on the third page.
IR I can see a string of light on your shoulder James.
JG I'm starting to get pains in my stomach now. A couple of names are coming to me. Ernie something and Meadows.
We found out a Douglas Meadows worked on the site in the motor vehicle section between 1950 and 1953.
JG Now I can see someone outside the office in a white coat. And there are white lights behind Daz's head.
DT (Who has moved from standing in one corner of the room to sitting on top of the desk in the other side of the room) Since moving here my head's really heavy and I've got very cold arms. They're goosepimply. The backs of my arms are very cold and it's as though my head's being pushed back.
JG Ask them to move away Daz.
DT Can you back away now.
IR There's a light above Daz's head, right above his head.
JG Yes, there's someone between Daz and Emma. It's not quite a person, not strong enough, so I can't make out if it's a man or woman.
DT My leftside's colder than my right. Now my back's gone freezing cold.
CC When I was sat there before my head felt heavy too. I put it down to tiredness.
DT My back's warm again now...
BANG (The desk between DT and ES makes a massive bang, as if it's been kicked. Both say they didn't touch it.)
JG Darren was talking to Ian when that desk went bang then. And when the noise was made I saw an orb fly over to Darren. It was as if someone was trying to say 'don't talk to Ian'.
CC I saw something move towards Daz then.
DT The back of my neck feels heavy again, and there's a pain in the middle of my back, as if I'm wearing a heavy rucksack.
JG I feel very irritated by this man. He's aggressive and I'm telling him to pick on me and leave you alone Daz.
11:30pm - Seance in the storeroom
DM opened the seance and asked for the circle to be protected. He then asked if there was anyone who would like to make contact.
CC I keep seeing red and purple lights in the corner of the room, in that doorway.
IR I've seen someone, not a whole figure, like a shadow, possibly of a man. He's looking at us.
DT I can see red, organgey flashes coming from the right-hand corner too.
DM We'll go round the circle and I want everyone to tell me the first thing that springs to mind. It can be names or images or anything.
JG The name Leroy is coming to me. His surname could be Turner or Turnpike or something similar. He was a black man and used to work here but I'm not sure what as.
CC The name Ernest Galloway. And Mabel, I'm thinking of Mabel. My fingers feel strange, like they've got pulses in them.
DT I've got a lot of pressure on the back of my neck now.
IR I see a forest, an evergreen forest. And I can also see a runway. Malcolm, the name Malcolm comes to me. It's not necessarily a first name though.
A Malcolm East worked at the base as an aircraft repairman between 1951 and 1952.
DM During World War II some runways would be in forests to keep them hidden from the enemy.
PC The number 617's coming to me. Maybe it's a squadron number? I'm also thinking of the place name of Hamburg. I feel really tense. And I can hear someone shouting 'fire'. Not fire as in fire a gun, but fire as in a blaze.
The nearest squadron number we could find that was related to Burtonwood was 611.
DM (Who sat next to PC) You're hands are very hot. I feel there's someone behind me but we're protected so it's ok.
IR I feel sick to my stomach now.
DM If you can, ride with it. If not ask for yourself to be left alone.
DM closes the seance.
DM I feel we were tapping into people's memories. How does everyone feel?
