PLANS to build 101 homes in Halebank are set to be rejected by Halton Council next week.
A mixture of three and four bedroom houses and one and two bedroom apartments in Hale Road are in the pipeline by Elite Homes. If approved it would be the second major new housing estate in the area, following the development of the neighbouring former Asda site. Proposals to develop the existing commercial area currently used by Cameron Industrial Services are considered premature and piecemeal by council officers who are recommending refusal at next Monday's development control committee.
Councillors feel it could prejudice the wider regeneration of the area and result in a poor quality residential environment.
