HASLINGTON bounced back in style with an eight-wicket win at rock-bottom Hanford.
After a heavy defeat against Ashcombe Park, the Clay Lane boys took it out by thumping the hosts, last Saturday.
With rain and the conditions in mind, Haslington opted for the ball and that decision looked spot on as soon as the duo of Sohail Tanvir and Tom Gledhill got to work.
Openers Stuart Harvey (20) and Andrew Pickerall (34) had give them a start before Tanvir removed both along with number three Colin Keates for a duck.
Roger Davies (33) mustered some resistance and Rao enjoyed a brief 15 but as soon as they were gone, it was all but over.
Three more ducks followed while Andrew Pearce lasted for just seven as Gledhill wiped away the tail.
All out for 147 inside 42 overs, both bowlers completed five wicket hauls with Tavir claiming 5-68 off 21 overs and Gledhill 5-24 off 12.1.
Confident of chasing that down, Tanvir smashed a quick fire 21 to get Haslington off to a flier with one huge six before falling to Andrew Keates.
Dean Bedson suffered a quick exit for just four before opener Richard Bebbington (32no) and in-form Chris Henderson got the job done.
Henderson opened his shoulders for a fine 75, smashed 14 fours and two sixes as Haslington closed on 151-2 off only 21.2 overs.
They entertain Caverswall, this Saturday.
