ITS that time of year again when Macmillan Cancer Support urges all to take time out from our busy schedule to sit down and have a coffee.

The charity will be holding its annual World's Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday, September 29, and is urging schools, business and friends to get involved.

The event is one of the world's largest charity fundraisers and last year in the UK 45,000 groups got together with more than 2 million people enjoying a cup of coffee, cakes and a gossip with friends to raise money for a good cause.

This year, organisers hope to top last year's fundraising figure of £6.5 million raised by pulling in £7 million through selling cakes to eat with your cuppa and a range of competitions such as guess the number of coffee beans in a jar.

Macmillan Cancer Support does vital work to help people who have cancer and their families, whether they need practical, medical, emotional or financial support.

If you would like to set up your own coffee morning then Macmillan will send you everything you need, from posters and invitations to balloons and collection boxes.
