A FIRE at the site of the former Job Centre brought a busy road to a close for around an hour.
Fire crews were called to deal with the fire at the building on High Street last Wednesday, August 23, at 11.15am. Police closed the street until midday while firefighters tackled the fire that had affected the ground floor, with smoke damage throughout the building.
Cheshire Police believe that the fire was started deliberately and are investigating the incident.
Initially firefighters thought that the fire was started by rubbish being set on fire inside the building.
Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to- contact the police in confidence by calling Crimstoppers on 0800 555 111.
