A WOMAN was seriously injured after her car ploughed into a crash barrier as she approached the Runcorn Bridge.
The 22-year-old local woman suffered what police described as 'serious injuries' after the crash in Ashley Way, Widnes on Sunday lunchtime.
Accident investigators believe she lost control of her blue Citroen Xsara 200 metres past the traffic lights and collided with the barrier.
She was taken to hospital where her condition is described as stable.
