THIS IS the man police want to question in connection with the alleged rape of a Crewe woman in Nantwich.

Detectives are hunting the man, believed to be in his mid 20s, after he allegedly raped a 27-year-old as she tried to make her way home from a night out at Gregory's Nightclub on August 13.

The alleged victim left the club between 1.30am and 2am to get a taxi home, but at some point during the evening she had been parted from her handbag containing money and mobile phone.

At the taxi rank in Swine Market she struggled to get a cab because she had no money, and after waiting 10 minutes, she was approached by a man who offered to accompany her to his home where she could call a taxi.

She accepted and walked with her attacker and a group of other men before the pair separated on Manor Road.

A police spokesman said: "They continued walking along Manor Road away from town, passing the swimming baths and turning into a side street.

"The man then took the woman into a house described as semi-detached or terraced and having a UPVC door. A black Corsa was parked in the driveway."

The man is accused of forcing the woman upstairs and raping her, before driving her back to Wistaston in the Corsa.

Police say he was white, six feet tall and of slim build with light brown spiky hair.

He was wearing light-coloured blue jeans and a white t-shirt with black stripe running across the sleeve and part of the chest. He spoke with a local accent.
