AN indoor rowing league has been launched for 2006/07 and entries are open to schools in Widnes.

The Concept2 Schools Indoor Rowing League is an all-inclusive national tournament in which boys and girls race for their schools in year-group teams in relay format on one Concept2 indoor rower.

By having just one of the indoor rowers, school pupils can compete with other teams in their school and other teams across the country.

By registering online free of charge at www.concept2.co.uk/league results can be regularly uploaded by a teacher or PE instructor in charge and compared with other teams up and down the land in order to check on progress.

The tournament consists of six rounds, three in the winter term and three in the spring.

At the end of the tournament the winning team in each category will win the league trophy and the top three teams will win gold, silver and bronze medals.
