A WAREHOUSE site worth £1.3 million has been bought by a Widnes company.
The site, on Everite Road in Ditton, has been bought by Widnes-based company Merseyside Coatings Ltd in a deal brokered by industrial experts at property consultancy Knight Frank with GVA Grimley.
The site's direct transport links to Runcorn, Liverpool and Warrington and the north west's motorway network meant that there was a large interest in the site from a number of companies.
Karl Kiernan from Knight Frank has revealed that demand for good quality warehouse space in Widnes is strong.
He said: "We expected a large amount of interest from both developers and owner- occupiers and we were not disappointed. The high volume of interest in the site underlines just how demand in the area has risen considerably."
Merseyside Coatings Ltd operates one of the UK's largest applicators of protective coatings for steel.
The company has been under investigation after a worker was crushed to death by a forklift truck on Friday, July 28, at the company's 3.5-acre site base at Halebank Industrial Estate.
Its newly-acquired site will increase its space by a further 4.79-acres.
