TWINS from Cronton have scooped a Cambridge double by both landing places at the prestigious university.
Amy and John Pennefather are off at Cambridge University thanks to their exceptional A-level results.
The pair, who studied at Liverpool College, bagged eight grade A results between them, with Amy picking up top grades in maths, physics, chemistry and geography and John scoring in maths, further maths, chemistry and physics.
Amy will study medicine at Newnham College while John will be studying mathematics at Churchill College.
Amy said: "I was quite nervous the night before I collected the results but I am really pleased.
"I like the idea that we are both going to Cambridge, but to different colleges, so we can see each other as often or as little as we like."
John added: "The entrance exams for Cambridge were as much a challenge as A-levels."
