BRIDGEMERE Garden World in Nantwich was in full bloom last week with the centre's annual Rose Show.

Hundreds of flowers of all colours and sizes were on show, along with bowls and vases from tiny miniatures to large flowered roses as exhibitors flocked to the event from all over the country.

The thousands of visitors marvelled at exhibits which varied from the nine inch Twelfth Night to table exhibit First Night Party, and Green Fingers a class using foliage only.

Tony Bracegirdle of Lancashire scooped several top trophies including Best Exhibit and the Bridgemere Master Class for two large bowls, one of cluster flowers and one of large blooms.

Shropshire exhibitor Paul Evans was also in the prizes winning a Rose Society medal for Best Bloom in the show with a rose called Buxom Beauty.

Fred Barnes from Cumbria won trophies in the miniature classes.

Bridgemere's Rosalind Harrington said: "Over the weekend hundreds of visitors enjoyed the show and they were surprised to see Tony Bracegirdle and Fred Barnes, many having seen them the evening before on the television programme Gardener's World."
