A MAN had to be cut out of a car after the vehicle hit a lamppost.
Firefighters were called to the incident, on Dan's Road, Widnes, at 10.50am on Sunday.
They spent around an hour cutting off the door of the saloon car to free the man trapped inside the vehicle.
He did not suffer any serious injuries.
One other passenger was able to escape the car without any help.
