LITTLE Sophie Liptrott may not know it, but she is continuing a family tradition to help raise money for Halton Haven.

The four-month-old's mum asked all guests at Sophie's christening to donate money to the hospice instead of buying a gift - and the total came to £500!

Sophie's mum Clare decided to carry out the gesture after her father, Harry Constantine, used the hospice before he died last year aged 71.

Earlier this year, Clare's mum Val, from Widnes, had donated an amazing £10,000 to the hospice after nominating it for the Daily Mail's 'Make A Difference Charity Fund' in memory of Harry.

The money raised from the christening collection will help buy furniture to kit out one and a half rooms at the hospice.
