MOVING on to secondary school can be a daunting prospect, but youngsters making the move in September spent a fun week preparing for the change.
Looked-after children who are unable to live with their families enjoyed a week packed with arts and crafts. The group of 10 children worked alongside professional artists to create artwork, music and poetry focusing on the change of moving schools.
Among the groups to work with the youngsters was the pupils' samba band from St Peter and Paul's Catholic College, with all members devoting their spare time during their summer holidays to help out and offer extra support on the move from primary school.
The events were funded by Halton Borough Council and were organised by Val Stoddart-Cross and Win Little from the Halton Educational Psychology Service.
