RESIDENTS in Nantwich are being urged to take advantage of how to save energy in the home, as the borough council makes the issue a top priority.

Cllr Rachel Bailey said: "We are always seeking ways of promoting the saving of energy.

"Household energy efficiency figures have significantly improved over the past four years and the figures for April 2005 - March 2006, will show this is continuing.

"This year, by using money linked to the Regional Housing Strategy, the council is able to offer free help to all residents, from advice and information to grant aid and free installation of energy saving measures, including cavity wall and loft insulation."
