TROUBLEMAKERS plaguing Halton's bars and pubs are to be named and shamed by having their mug shots plastered across the Internet.
But only licensees signed up the Pub Watch scheme will have access to the website, which will help them identify thugs hell bent on causing trouble that have already been banned elsewhere.
"We have had Pub Watch in Halton for two years now and the same two issues have been encountered by licensees; how we can communicate with each other quickly and how we can keep up top date with who has been banned," said Halton's licensing officer, Ian Seville.
The scheme will be aided by the Council-funded 'Nite-Net' security radio system to allow the 110 member licensees to keep in constant touch with each other.
The technology will allow member licensees to ditch the impractical and time-consuming process of distributing copies of pictures and information between them.
Pub Watch bans apply to any member bar, pub or club across the whole of Halton and are aimed at protecting customers and licensees businesses.
The length and conditions of the ban are decided by a committee and can be for a range of anti-social and criminal offences, including excessive drunkenness, assault, vandalism, drugs and theft.
