FLAUTIST Alexandra Roberts has blown away examiners with her natural flair for the flute.
The 16-year-old former Fairfield High School pupil has gained the top-level grading any musician can get in her flute exams. Alexandra was awarded a Grade Eight with Distinction for her exam and has now also bagged herself a place at the prestigious Leeds College of Music.
She was one of just three flautists to be offered places at the college and will start her course there at the end of the month.
Alexandra, from Clarence Avenue, first started to play the flute when she was in junior school and immediately her talent stood out. Since then, under the expert eye of her music teachers, she has flourished to become an accomplished musician and can also play the clarinet, piano and saxophone among other instruments.
