JUDGES visited Nantwich yesterday to assess the town's entry into this year's Britain in Bloom competition.
The Nantwich in Bloom team have been hard at work preparing for the prestigious visit by the national judges as they bid for another successful year.
The town qualified to represent the North-West in the national competition by succeeding in last year's North-West in Bloom awards.
The national judges were greeted in Nantwich Square by local dignitaries and street entertainers.
The eventual winners will be announced at a presentation ceremony in September.
Jim Buttress, chairman of the judges, said: "Britain in Bloom is so much more than a floral competition.
"Cleanliness and community spirit are both a big part of what the judges are looking for."
